Question on Linux sdf

Hi,

I have an urgent issue/question to solve, and would appreciate it if someone could help.

The system runs RH 5.4. One of the HDD is broken, but we can still see the drive mounted in the OS, and it is still accessible. It can still be read, but all it shows are the data of the HDD just ahead of failure. For example, the HDD of sdf is broken and lost but sdf is still in the system and it shows the content of sde.

I'm not very familiar with sdf on Linux. Is it an expected behavior? Detailed explanation would be helpful.

Thanks,
BJT

The best way to get urgent and competent help with your issue would be to contact the Red Hat support. You are already paying for it, so why not use it?
