question on forum use

i'm not sure, but I believe to have read somewhere in this forum, one should mark threads as 'question answered' if they are.
Is that true? if yes, how to do it?

Most would like feed back as to whether the problem was solved or not. Someone will inevitably do a search on a topic and it always helpful if the person knows whether the results were positive. So if you ask for help and it works tell us.
