Question about reinstalling GRUB

I am having problems with GRUB, and I think the best way to solve them would be to reinstall while booted to Linux using the grub-install command. I have a dual-boot WinXP and Red Hat WS 3. If I run that reinstall command (grub-install /dev/hda), will my Windows install then be lost, or will I be able to dual-boot as I normally did? Thanks in advance.

Your windoze install wont be lost, you'll be able to boot as before.

Depends on what kind of problem you have. I mean the way to solve it. You won't lose you're windows in any way. Just the method of solving the problem might differ in some way.

You might use /sbin/grub-install /dev/hda or you can try to resolve the issue through the grub console which is a little harder, but is sometimes required.
