Question about BtrFS filesystem compression.

How does btrfs compress transparently your partition?
Is there some command? i especially installed ubuntu 10.10 with btrfs after having tried openSUSE and after i screwed up my boot..
so i installed it in a ver , very tiny partition.. how do i tell it to compress the fs now?

First of all, in Ubuntu 10.10 you need a separate /boot partition (as well as a / one) to load btrfs (GRUB problem, apparently GRUB in Ubuntu 10.10 doesn't know about btrfs and registers "unknown filesystem"). However, apparently you can use the command 'btrfsctl' ('btrfsctl -h' for usage) to enable compression at the root level. However, filesystem compression (and other "features") have to be manipulated in btrfs from the command line.

thanks..
i kinda feel sorry i didn't install since the begginning on btrfs with compression.. now i've enabled compression through fstab, but anyways i guess im gonna reinstall because i also want to compress what it installs on root partition
