Query related to sendmail problem.

Hai,
I am just learning to use sendmail in Fedora9. I have 2 systems named rc1(10.0.0.1) and rc2 (10.0.0.2). I configured rc1 as a sendmail server by means of the follg steps.:

->commented the 116 th line of /etc/mail/sendmail.mc, that is,
#dnl, so that sendmail can listen to other addresses apart from localhost.
then, I typed make -C /etc/mail
Then, I started the sendmail service.
Then I typed,
[root@rc1~]#mail root@10.0.0.2 ( I also tried root@rc2)
Subject: hi
hi test
.
but this mail is returned back to this system itself with a MAILER-DAEMON message saying that 'MX domain error?'. But, when I send a mail to a local user it is functioning nicely.
Pls let me know what shd I do ?
I have added Ip-to-name mappings in both systems' /etc/hosts file.
Kindly let me know where am I going wrong. I have installed dovecot in both the systems and they are running.
