QTparted for Fedeora Core 5
 

I downloaded qtparted through yum.


when ever i run qtparted to access my dual booted harddrive /dev/hda

i get the following error.

and when i try to umount my stuff... i get the following

"umount -f /tmp

umount2: Device or resource busy

umount: /tmp: device is busy

umount2: Device or resource busy

umount: /tmp: device is busy
"




1)Is there a way to run qtparted on FC5?? or i must run qtparted on knoppix??

2)Maybe,is there any option for me to reboot my FC in a Read-Only mode??


3)Any better methods other than using knoppix?

What about you try mounting /tmp somewhere else?
Put that in your fstab and reboot.
If you don't have a spare partition, use swap (temporalily desactivate and put /tmp instead)

Sorry for not being clear,

/tmp is not the only partition i failed to umount
/usr,/, and others are too and my swap wont be able to hold all of them :(

I could be wrong but I don't think you can unmount / .
You would have to use an alternative root path (perhaps ramfs could help), but you are going to have much more troubles than using knoppix. Using knoppix is the way to go IMO, or gparted.
