Qt problem

I recently installed Qt (suse 9.0, KDE) to try a bit of windowed programming. I am doing the tutorial from http://www.digitalfanatics.org/proje...hapter05.html.
In ch5, "my very first ever simple wondowed program", when I got to the point of actually compiling it make complained "cannot find -lqt".
I decided I'd made a mistake and d/led the code from the link supplied at the bottom of the page. unzipped, untarred, etc. Ran qmake - no probs. Ran make - "cannot find .ui/dlgmain.h."
... but shouldn't that file have been in the tarball?
Any ideas on either problem?
