Qt 4.2.3

I have downloaded and installed Qt-4.2.3 following the instructions and I didn't receive error messages.
Then I added this line in the .profile :

export PATH

end typed

. .profile

in the shell.

But if I check the installed version, only an older version results installed.

Can you help me to fix this problem?

Try to logout and re login, sourcing the .profile from a shell (re)applies the settings to that shell only. Unless if you are checking the version from that same shell?
