qmake not found

I'm trying to compile the qjackctl software and i 'm having a few errors which appear to be related to qt3. The first one was an error concerning the QTDIR not being found, this was solved with the help of someone instructing me to use the command 'export QTDIR=/usr/lib/qt3' which did the trick but now i'm running into another error whilst configuring 'qmake not found in current PATH. Maybe QT development environment isn't available (qt3-devel)'. I'm running suse 8.2 and i have checked that the QT3 development package is installed, it is so i'm baffled. There isn't a qmake sub-directory of any sort in the qt3 directory.

Could anyone help me resolve this?

Thanks very much.

Dan

You need to add the qt3 bin directory to your PATH variable, as follows:

export PATH=$PATH:/usr/lib/qt3/bin

It should now find qmake. I'm not sure if this is permanent though.
