Qmail Webmin/ Terminal guide pls

Dear all,

pls bear with me as i'm very new at this, and posting this solely because I have tried searching here as well as google but cant seem to get an answer.

am using qmail and have webmin, all is running smoothly, but i have users spamming other staff accounts.

The question: How do I block a user from sending out mails but still able to receive mails. Just denying access to sending mails?

Would greatly appreciate if anyone can guide me to do it via terminal as well as webmin.

Why webmin you ask, because I have tried it once it works but sadly it block both incoming and outgoing mails.

Hi and welcome to LQ

You can put the email address(es) you want to block from sending mail in /var/qmail/badmailfrom
Code:

user1@domain.com
user2@domain.com

hi,
thanks for ur reply,

firstly i thought /var/qmail/badmailfrom is where we put unwanted incoming mail addresses.
and secondly i tried what you suggested but the user is still able to send mails to other users? after placing the email address in this list should i restart and service?

Hi,

The correct file location is /var/qmail/control/badmailfrom and there is no need to restart qmail
