Python Sketches hidden in NOOBs SD-Card from blocked RaspberryPi

Hello,
Am desperately seeking my Python sketches that have disappeared into the SD-Card on a RaspberryPi that blocked. Realised now that it had become full. I have saved everything onto a laptop running Windows 8.1 and uncompressed various root.tar.xz files in Raspbian, Pidora, etc with 7-Zip.
I have looked numerous times through the Raspbian file and others but can find no trace. Do you have any idea where they might be. It was a NOOBs Card that I did not expand because I am a RPi novice but amateur coder in lots of different languages.
Any help would be gratefully received, Walter

walter74,

Nothing in /usr/bin or /usr/bin/python?

Thanks for your response beachboy2,
No nothing in either of them but had a look at /home/pi/Desktop on the SD-Card in a functionning RPi and the Python sketch that I am working on is there. However, when I look in the same folder in the uncompressed root.tar.xz it is nearly empty. It is almost as if I had done nothing with the SD-Card since I bought it in December 2014!

/usr/bin/X11/X11/.......

Am accepting that my failure to back-up the files stored on the Desktop(!!!!) and not expanding the file system supplied in the NOOBed SD-Card are my fault. The new NOOB cards are now fully expanded & the RPi works fine.
During my vain search I found a forever repeating set of X11 sub-folders in /usr/bin: eg /usr/bin/X11, /usr/bin/X11/X11, etc - Gave up looking after 10 sets & each one contains the same set of 'shared library' files ranging from a few octets to 180 koctets.
Does anyone know why? It seems an enormous waste of memory.
All the best, Walter

Still puzzled over the missing Desktop folders

Keith Hedger posted this response to the X11/X11/etc subsets t I have now marked as 'Solved':

this has been around for ages its just a symlink to itself ignore it

Have just tested to see if the Desktop folder is stored in /home/pi when transferring the contents of a functionning SD-Card to the Windows 8.1 laptop and the answer is 'It does not'. It stores ~/python_games which came with the NOOBED SD-Card only. So either the Desktop contents are still hidden or they are too shy to be uncompressed!

Any other suggestions gratefully received, Walter
