PYTHON or Bash Shell Scripting?

I do not know how to write either PYTHON or Bash Shell Scripting. I am to learn one for Linux Administration purpose. Which one will you recommend for a Linux Admin/Eng environment?

Its really a matter of preference. Both are powerful enough to to most things that an admin would want to do - but for pure Linux Admin I'd recommend bash.

Exactly, either will do the same job but its just a matter of preference.
Some say Python is easier but I have not found that to be accurate.

Linux distros' boot scripts and many system utilities are in bash (or sh which is a subset of bash for present purposes). Linux sysadmins sometimes modify them and often need to understand them for problem investigation. The same cannot be said about python. IMHO bash is essential for a Linux sysadmin and python is optional.
