Python help.

I went to synaptic package manager, becuase I wanted to install python. I see it is already installed, hence the green box. So, I would expect it to be on my computer already, yes? So I go to applications, programing, and nothing is their. When I installed anjuta it appered immeditely. So I right click, and click edit menus, not in their eithier. I then ran a search on it, and found nothing.

What is going on?

Python is installed and is probably fully functional (start a terminal and enter the command "python"). To access it from a GUI, install an IDE such as IDLE, Eric, and DR Python.
