PureVPN on Linux Mint 17.02?

I run Linux Mint 17.02 and my wife has Windows 7. Between us we have a licence for a vpn ... very simple procedure on Windows ... .exe file for the complete install. I on the other hand am struggling. Has anyone managed to install a vpn on Linux Mint? If you were successful, would you be so kind as to tell me how you did it. There are instructions on the PureVPN site but unfortunately I get to illustration 6 and cannot get any further (what is shown in the illustration is not what appears on the computer screen). I have tried their help line without success ... there was mass panic when I told them am a Linux Mint user and I was passed from pillar to post for over 48 hours.
I would appreciate all the help available ... all ideas welcome.

I installed openvpn and downloaded linux-files.zip from the web site. Then from memory the only thing to do was create the new connection and update the CA Certificate section with the file from the download.

Let me know if that helps?

Hi Grail, I think I'm almost there, I just need to know what to write in the box marked "Gateway".
I initially tried to get help from the PureVPN site, but they were okay with Windows but somewhat lost on Linux.
I typed in 'ny1-ovpn.purevpn.net' but I have no idea if this is right or wrong (I copied it from the illustration on the web-site).

Just to follow on from my last post. I did eventually get it set up and working, the above address was correct (my computer tells me I am connected). I will probably have to do a lot more research for information as I have absolutely no idea where I am connected too. A GUI would be useful. Unfortunately, there is no GUI for the Linux platform. However, I would like to know where I am connected ... just out of interest :) On Windows there is a GUI and it enables you to change countries, I wonder if there is a way to do the same (change countries) in the Linux set-up? If I find out I'll let you know :)
