puppy linux full install boot stops at "sh-3.00#"

I installed Puppy Linux 4.2.1 to the hard drive in a 2gb ext3 partition. It boots with GRUB.

The boot sequence goes like this:
Unlzmaing Linux... done.
Booting the kernel.
sh-3.00#

Anyone know what this means or how to get past it?

Whats up dude?

post your menu.lst for me

repo 07-28-2009 06:57 PM

Try to type startx

gray53 07-28-2009 07:09 PM

typing startx gave me "command not found"

Linus72, how do I view menu.lst? I tried typing "sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst in the boot screen and it also gave me "command not found"

Thanks.

Ok, dad found the menu.lst, but we can't get it off of the computer!

Ummm

use cp command

Quote:

cp -a /boot/grub/menu.lst /home/your-name/Desktop

OK, forget it. I'll just wait till the extra RAM comes in the mail and play around with it for a few days. Thanks anyway.
