Puppy does not seem to recognize SWI SD Card USB Device

I am a newbie and grateful for any help you can give.

I am running a Lucid Puppy (ver. 5.2.8) live CD on my Dell Inspiron 1525. I'd like to use Puppy to surf the net, but the network connection wizard in Lucid doesn't seem to recognize my AT&T data card. Am I using the wrong Linux distribution, perhaps? Is this a "mounting" problem? Is it possible to import the necessary driver from the Windows "side" of my Dell? (If so, how do I do this?)

Thanks for your consideration.
