PS3 YDL - Help I seem to have 2 desktops running

Another newbie here with a question on something he probably screwed up himself.

Ok I got YDL linux installed and then figured out how to set the resolution to 1080p for my Aquos 42" TV. Now it seems that I have 2 desktops running. The larger one that is full screen in the background I think is Enlightenment or E17. Then in the lower right hand corner I see the top left hand corner of another desktop. I can see a my computer and trash can icon on it. It looks like a MS Windows type desktop (KDE??). I can't seem to manipulate it or close it (like I would know how).

I've tried extensively to search for answers to this problem with no luck. So that leads me to post here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not talking about the virtual desktops. Here is a photo of my problem.

its just icons for your home folder and trash
KDE is a GUI

It's not just Icons. I can change the background on each one. And when I click on each desktop I get different controlling/menu options. I can not move the Icon off of the lower right desktop to the left (larger viewing one). How do I make one or the other full screen. I guess I am just not getting this. I have seen many pictures of linux running a GUI and never seen it like this. It is allways full screen like this http://www.terrasoftsolutions.com/pr...hots/intro.jpg

thats a blackbox GUI, you should do some research on the different desktop GUI's. did you try the yellow dog website, maybe thats how its supposed to look
