Proxy forbids port 1863 tunnelling

Hi,

I am using Fedora Core 1
I use gaim for chatting. I use it for Yahoo as well as MSN. I connected to a LAN and connect to the internet through a Proxy Server.
For few days I could easily access both my accounts but now whenever I connect to MSN I get the following error message :

Code:
invertedmeglomaniac@hotmail.com has been
disconnected

Sunday  Apr  24   23:24:20   2005
Access denied : Proxy forbids port 1863 tunnelling
Sometimes I get the same message for Yahoo as well with port 5050 tunnellling forbidden
I can say for sure that the system administrator has not blocked the messenger services as my windows friends can easily connect using the traditional Yahoo and MSN messengers. It's only got to do with the type of tunnelling Gaim uses.
The version of gaim which I am using is Gaim 1.1.2

Can some tweaking be done like using some other tunnelling so as to make Gaim connect?

Also I cannot access any of the chat rooms using Gaim.
Whenever I do Tools->Room List->Get List
I get a blank screen which never gets me the list.

Any ideas??

Thanx in anticipation
