Program to run

I downloaded the game Uplink for Linux, but when I try to run it, it tells me that I have to associate the application. I have no idea what program to run for it...

i assume :

http://www.introversion.co.uk/uplink/demo_linux.html

Last updated in October 2001 (first issue i have with this)

now it's a zip, so i'm assuming you decompressed it using ark or some similar tool (this assumption stems from this being a game, so probably having graphics, so you're in some sort of GUI [don't mind this reasoning, this is part of my uni work ... it's affecting my sleep also :-P ])

14 more seconds ... shees lousy internet connection

Right, then read the README file and it will tell you to change the permissions to include executable. and away you go.

On that note, the game is buggy and i can't terminate it. meaning i will have to reset the X server ... How can people write software without a quit option??

I dont know what ark is, nor do I even know if I decompressed it... I used the zip archive if that's what you mean but I don't know.

I read the README file and I think you mean where it says "You may need to set the attributes of the uplink executable to make it
runnable." I have no idea what they mean by that.... Sorry for needing better explanations for everything...
