Program for school not displaying correctly
Hello fellow linux enthusiasts, I have used this site for a while, and love it. It seems everyone has the same problems as me at times haha
Well heres my problem, I have this program for school called PacketTracer, it is a network simulation program. The menus and such display fine, but the buttons and other things, as shown in the picture, are very hard to read. Picture: http://img20.imageshack.us/i/packettrace1.png/ Any ideas?? |
It seems like it's a font problem (or at least that's what I'd find problematic in the picture you linked). Your window manager seems to be using nice fonts, so you probably have non-ugly fonts on your system, it's just a problem of your program using them. Try and find if you can change the fonts it's using. If you're lucky it will let you play with the fonts, at least enough to make them readable.
I have a similar problem with Mathematica, where the default font makes ";" look exactly like "," which is a big problem when writing code. I am forced to use an uglier font in which that doesn't happen. I suspect it's a rendering issue, but I couldn't find a lot of info on it. |
I changed all the fonts in the system and changed the rendering style and still no luck. What font do you think the program is using from the system?
