Just type its name, in lower case:
Code:
mplayer
You can also use tab completion. Type in "mp" and press tab, which will either complete the rest of the command, or if there are more than one commands starting with mp press tab again to get a list of all the commands.

If you want more info, please give us more details.

I don't know what Lunar is, but using MPlayer is very simple. Just type the command any arguments you need and the file you want to play.

Example:
Code:
# mplayer -framedrop Dogma.avi
I have to use the framedrop because I have a slow machine, if I don't the audio is out of sync.

If you are in the same directory as the program you want to execute, you need to put ./ in front of it.

Example:
Code:
./mplayer
