proftpd virtualhost

From what I understand, the <VirtualHost> directive in the proftpd.conf file can either be a dns name, or ip, but that every <VirtualHost> tag must have a separate ip address to function correctly.

I was looking for something similar to apache's VirtualHost directive, which delivers pages for multiple domain names from the same ip address and port. Is this possible with ftp?

Thanks

did you check their docuemntation? http://www.castaglia.org/proftpd/doc...WTO-Vhost.html first line says no.

yes, i did read through the documentation, but was hoping for some sort of work around, or maybe another program that can do this.

Reading your reference a little more carefully, however, it looks like this is a limitation of the FTP protocol, and not proftpd.

Thanks for the response.
