proftpd, chroot, locking to home..?

hi friends .. im newbie.. i wanna ask a little question? .. i installed to my system proftpd.. i can manage it.. but i couldnt change user's permisions.. ?.. i wanna using only home directory on ftp for a user i searched about it .. i think i must use chroot but i couldnt do it.. i need your help.. thanks.. if u write to here longly i ll be happy

In proftpd.conf, add/modify the following entry
DefaultRoot	~
