problems with xawtv
Hello all! I liked the idea of watching Satellite TV on my PC's monitor
(so my kids can watch cartoons on TV) so I bought a Technotrend DVB-s card.
First I tried to install drivers and apps on Windows but i got a lot
of blue screens and so I decided to enter the Linux World and give it a try.
After reading a lot of material on video 4 linux, dvb for linux etc I
downloaded various packages and I installed them. Here is what v4l-conf
displays just before I start xawtv.
#v4l-conf
v4l-conf: using X11 display :0
dga: version 2.0
mode:1024x768, depth=24, bpp=32, bpl=4096, base=0xd6000000
/dev/video0 [v4l2]: ioctl VIDIOC_QUERYCAP: Invalid argument
done
==========================
and that's a list with the modules I load
insmod i2c-core
insmod /root/videodevX/videodevX.o
insmod /root/videodevX/v4l_compat.o
insmod /usr/src/DVB/driver/dvbdev.o
insmod /usr/src/DVB/driver/dvb_net.o
insmod /usr/src/DVB/driver/dvb_filter.o
insmod /usr/src/DVB/driver/dmxdev.o
insmod /usr/src/DVB/driver/saa7146_core.o
insmod /usr/src/DVB/driver/dvb_demux.o
insmod /usr/src/DVB/driver/dvb_frontend.o
insmod /usr/src/DVB/driver/dvb.o
When I run xawtv I get the following output
=======================
#xawtv -hwscan
This is xawtv-3.54, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.7-10)
looking for available devices
/dev/video0: OK

Anyone willing to help a newbie to solve his first
Linux problem?
My PC setup is as follows:

512Mb RAM

Studio 10plus videograbber
