problems with web browser for kde 4.3

i've a dual boot pc with win xp & KDE 4.3 i've subscribed to cablenet and i am not able to connect to the internet when i use kde the cable guy is not able to help as he says he has no drivers to create a connection for the kde version, he had used a cd containing drivers which creatad a network connection to cablenet for windows is it possible to donload drivers such as these for kde?

Also Note ~ KDE is NOT an Operating System in-and-of itself. Its just a Desktop Environment. It would be helpful if you provided your Linux Distro, what web browser you're using, what the cable guy is trying to install, and what you are required to do for internet connectivity.

It might be likely that you do not need third-party drivers/software if your ethernet port is working.
