problems with video resolution

Hi, every time I load the X server, the video resolution is the highest, this is uncomfortable to me, because every time I have to customize it. I tried to put my desired resolution at first in the Xorg Monitor resolution part, but it didn't work. I have an ATI RADEON x1300 with AIGLX in a Debian Box.

One important thing is this problem exist since I installed the aiglx driver. Any suggestions will be useful.

Have you tried manually editing the Xorg config file?

posting your xorg.conf file might help.. we can't diagnose if we can't see what you are doing.

This may shed some light.. look at the sections related to the statements in xorg.conf
