Problems with sound volume (it is too loud) MDK10.0 /KDE
 

Hi, i've got a problem with the sound volume while using Mandrake Linux 10.0 under KDE.

in the menu, there is a entry under multimedia->sound->Kmix
This one only influences the simulated oss volume... but programs like xmms aren't affected by changing the settings.

So I tried console -> alsamixer, I turned everything to the minimal value, but some programs are still extreme loud e.g. flash player or annoying background music on websites.. or system notification sounds (this is extreme annoying,if you're listing music at a low level and then an extreme loud beeeeeeep appears ) .

How do I get those programs not to be so loud anymore?
And xmms is at the max level (100% ) on startup. How can I change the default volume of it?
