Problems with smb.conf - only Linux box on a 3-computer network

Heyas all,

My room mates are running WinXP systems, and I'm running RedHat 9.
We're going through a router that's handling the DHCP, so we can all get online, etc.

However, I"m having some SERIOUS problems figuring out what to do with my smb.conf in order to get around in their computers (we share out our mp3's, movies).

I pull up Samba, and I can see the Windows workgroup "My Pants", when I dbl-click it, I can see their computers, but I can't get into them. I know the simple way around this is to have them make a "User Account" on their machines and I can just use that to get into them, because that's what we've done and I know it works. However, I want to do it the RIGHT way ;)

A friend of mine suggested xSMB browser, so I downloaded it, installed it, and well, now I've gone and completely botched my smb.conf file, and now I can't do ANYTHING on the LAN. Well, I can ping them, I can play games against them, but I can't browse them... actually I can't even see the workgroup anymore! :(

So this is a two-part question/favor:

1) If I copy/paste my smb.conf file in here, would someone be able to help me tweak it so that it works?

And then, once we've got THAT problem tackled,

2) if anyone's familiar with xSMB Browser would you be able to help me get that running once I have Samba going again?

to save space, I won't copy/paste my smb.conf file until someone says they can help me with it.

Thanks a ton in advance!!!!

Oh, and if anyone does help me with the conf file, PLEASE don't just "do it", but make sure you explain what you're doing and why so that I learn it.

thanks again in advance!

Don't worry about the smb.conf problem anymore... I fixed it all by myself :D
