Problems with PKG-Config
I seem to be having lots of problems compile stuff because I get an error with PKG-Config every time.

Here is an example. When I try to install airsnort

checking for gtk+-2.0 >= 2.0.0... Package gtk+-2.0 was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gtk+-2.0.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gtk+-2.0' found

I have checked Yast and gtk+-2.0 is installed.

i think you should find in which directory gtk+-2.0.pc file is under and then do:
export PKG_CONFIG_PATH=(full path of the directory which the *.pc file is under, in my SuSE is under /usr/lib/pkgconfig)

then do

it should print the path for the environment variable. You can do this also before you do "export" to see in which dir the variable was set.

on suse you will have to have gtk2-devel installed (it should be named something along those lines) to have the .pc file on your system.
