Problems with open office
 

Hi

I am running XP/RH9 dual boot on Compaq presario 1711T

Whenever I open an open office application the main menu i.e. File, edit etc.. appear in a really huge font so that they cover the whole screen

I do not remember having changed any font size or setting..

I would appreciate if someone can help me out...other applications open fine

did you find out the answer as I'm having same problem with OOo1.1

the specific problem is that the menus & surround are massive, documents seem to appear normal size, as does the status bar (kde) above the program.

I've reinstalled from open office org with no joy
I had it installed on suse 8.2 w/o problems (same version from web) and my windows version works fine.

other programs appear ok.

any ideas anyone??

I'll try that, just wondering whether it's not a prob with my graphics configurations as have used open office 1.1.0 on the same machine without problems (that was with suse 8.2, now have a fresh install of 9.0) and it was ok yesterday for a bit (between various attempts at getting NVIDIA drivers working and various true type fonts installed)

I will enquire at the OOo website/forums too

I have fixed it......

the problem was that I put the true type fonts into the type1 fonts folder
deleting them has resolved it

(problem caused by my own ineptitude)

Actually, I had the same exact problem. Finally, I've found a way to fix it. Under the display settings, set the DPI to 0s.
