i updated my kernel to 2.6.3-15mdk from 2.6.3-7. now there is no libs/modules/linux-2.6.3-15mdk directory. which i need.
all i want to do is install MADWifi so i can use the internet from Mandrake Linux 10. Why does it have to be so much fucking effort?
You don't have to be nasty about it - otherwise - we could all just come back and say RTFM.
When you installed your new kernel - you neglected to elect to install the modules as well.
this is done with make modules and/or modules_install at the time of kernel compile....
hi, sorry for the cursing, just been trying for days to get this MADWifi thing working and nothing seems to do any good. i installed from the RPM so i didn't comile the kernel. how would i install the modules from the RPM? thanks
This patch is FULL of stuff dude - probably what you are looking for as well.
I am running Slack, and i dunno if you have this or not, if so great, if not, go grab it real quick.
It's called rpm2tgz. Basically, it will take the rpm, and convert it to source code.
This will allow you to view all the files contained within it, extract only what you want, and then, do as you will.
Just on thing, though, you will have to compile the module, as it is all .h and .c files.............
thankyou, i finally got it all installed. but now half the drivers aren't working, and MADWifi still won't install. so is there any way for me to return everything to how it was before?
