I've been wanting to install some themes for KDE, but for some reason, the theme manager seems to be missing. I tried to download the theme manager for 3.3 from developer.kde.org/~lukas/kthememanager, but here is the error I get when configuring:
checking for KDE... configure: error:
in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail.
So, check this please and use another prefix!
Can anyone help me out with this problem? How does one go about installing and applying themes in KDE 3.2.2?
KDE 3.2 and earlier does not have "theme support". Instead, you modifiy individual components in control center => appearance and themes. If you want full theme support, then you need to upgrade to KDE 3.3
so sorry, i made a typo at the worst possible place - I'm actually using KDE 3.3.0.
I've tried everything, but the file filter in the theme selector dialog box does not seem to find anything, .themerc, .theme, .ktheme! eh i was so excited about using some cool themes with this new version of kde.

Having the same problem, the theme manager doesn't recognise any of the themes I've installed from KDE-look.org
Well, it was well worth the hassle of upgrading to KDE 3.3 for this, I can tell you...
