Problems with installing Skype on Centos 6.4
 

Hi

I am new to centos and have been trying to install skype but getting difficulties. I have gone through multiple forums and websites but didnt work for me. Can we get a skype rpm package that can be installed directly. I have been trying to do it from terminal.

I have followed the install process given on

but having issues. any help will be appreciated.

I have Fedora 18 (which is very similar to CentOS). I just successfully downloaded and installed skype via rpm. What types of issues are you experiencing?

I downloaded the skype rpm from here --> http://www.skype.com/en/download-skype/skype-for-linux/. I used a basic rpm installation approach like so: sudo rpm -ivh skype-4.2.0.11-fedora.i586.rpm

Please let me know how far you got along...

Sorry for the late reply. Have not been able to try this as have been away had checked the replies and really appreciate all the help.

Good news is I have successfully installed skype now and working fine but now I am trying to get the video working. Any help will be much appreciated.
