Access CDROM.. hmmm...

With some of the old off the wall CDROMs you need to use a different Slackware boot disk that includes the kernel with the proper interface support for your CDROM.

Are you using just the bare.i kernel? Bare.i will only work with IDE CDROM drives. Let me check yours and see what interface it uses.

Ah Hah!

CDROM specs

A quick check of the slackware site shows that the sbpcd.i boot disk is probably the best bet to get your CDROM working. This is an old school 40 pin non-ide interface that Teac and some other manufacturers were using way back in the day.

good luck!

Ahhh.... my apologies. Slack has changed the name of the boot disk from sbpcd.i to oldcd.i.

So just look for oldcd.i on any of the slackware mirrors and go to town. :)
