Problems with Desktop Shortcuts

I am using SuSE 9.1, I created a few Desktop shortcuts but the problem I have with them is that they don't hold there picture like they should.

I.E. I have an Azureus Icon, which I created then I have a Mozilla Icon but they both display the same picture, I change Azureus icon to Azureus picture and it changes the Mozilla 1 aswell then the same vice versa when I change the Mozilla icon back to what it should be casue it changes the Azureus icon aswell.

this is REALLY irrating, can anyone please help me on this.

all i can think of is editing the icon info from a prompt. if you open up konsole and type:

vi /home/(USER)/Desktop/(NAMEOFICON)

you will be able to alter the image it refers to by changing the URL.

Several possibilties:

1. What desktop are you using? Gnome, KDE, ??? That will determine how the icons operate

2. What commands or actions are you taking to create these shortcuts?

3. When you power down Linux, are you giving the OS a chance to save its settings?
