I have been running RH9 without problems for the last few weeks on one of my pc's. Just recently I got ahold of a copy of Fedora Core 1 and decided to upgrade. So I popped the install disk in and slected upgrade. It seemed to work fine. I started the machine up and it went through everything, the the login prompt was about to come up when it tells me this:

[drm:i830_wait_ring] *Error* Lockup
[drm:i830_wait_ring] Space 131056 Wanted 131064

I really have no clue as to what is happening. I really can't afford to lose this machine, as it has an independent study project on it. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

I would say get a linux live CD like KNOPPIX and boot your computer with it. Mount your hard disk and pull out your data to whatever external medias you have first before you find a solid solution.

I was considering that. I have a Knoppix disk. Then I would just reinstall RH9. Or format and do a clean FC1 install. Thanks.
