Problems Starting PCMCIA Service

So I've been trying to get my Orinoco Silver 8420-WD to work in Linux. And I think I may have royally screwed something...

Here is what I've got.

I installed pcmcia-cs package trying to get this working. After getting it installed I went to restart the pcmcia service and I get the following error.

"exit status of parent of /sbin/cardmgr: 1"

I've done some searching on the forums and it seems like nobody really has a solution yet.

I'm running SuSE 9.0 on a Dell Inspiron 1100.

I'm pretty newbie, so if this is obvious I'm sorry about the post.
Thanks in advance.
