Problems Sending Mail

Hi folks

Can you guys give me any help regarding configuring sendmail to send mail to the outside world. Now all I can do is keep sending mails to myself

Any help will be appreciated

well give us a head start and show us what you did, or what errors you get, are you creating your own, are you relaying through your ISP SMTP, etc .. someones not going to give you a step by step when there are thousands of them on the internet, just narrow down what your trying to
accomplish and what problem your having .. for example what happens
when you do the following at a prompt:

Code:

type this --> sendmail externaltest@internet.com
then this --> This is a Test
then this --> .

what output do you get from a test ? and of course fill it in
to use a real email address.

thanx for ur fast reply. I realize I was very vague there, its probably because I'm really that new to Linux. Well when I did type in all that like you've mentioned and sent the mail , I get the following errors

"Verficaton Failed"
"Unroutabble mail"
