problems on installing gcc
when i type configure,it shows:
checking for a bsd complitble install .../usr/bin/install -c
cc:command not found
you must set the enviroment variable cc to a working compiler
how should i do for that?

Congratulations, you just discovered a rather interesting paradox, namely to compile gcc from source, you need to already have a C compiler. The solution is to install gcc from the binary packages that came with your distro. If you don't know how, please post what distro you are running, and someone will assist you.

just looked at the site and couldn't find binaries for the compiler anywhere
without a compiler you cannot build another compiler......
