Problems mounting my iPod via firewire

I finally have my iPod recognized by my machine now. I'm running Slackware 10.1 with

pico proc/scsi/scsi
Attached devices:
Host: scsi0 Channel: 00 Id: 00 Lun: 00
Vendor: Apple Model: iPod Rev: 1.63
Type: Direct-Access ANSI SCSI revision: 02
According to wikiPodLinux, scsi0 should mean that the iPod is hooked up at /dev/sda1. I don't have sdax in /dev/. I don't understand too much what modprobe sbp2 is doing, when I run it nothing happens in Terminal.

I am very confused with this. I was hoping to have my iPod hooked up tonight, but it doesn't seem like it'll be ready.

Thank you very much.

Try this, connect the ipod and type at a prompt
# dmesg

at the very end of that output there should be something about a new scsi device and it will list the /dev/X entry. Then just add a line to your /etc/fstab relating to that device. Something like

/dev/sdaX /mnt/ipod (?ipod filesystem?) defaults 0 0
