Problems mounting a Samba/CIFS shared filesystem in Nautilus

I have this problem. I can connect on the command line with

sudo mount -t cifs //presario/ddownloads /mnt/winshare -o username="Danny Crossley",password=****,workgroup=WORKGROUP

but Nautlius can't mount the file share without this command, even though the computer's listed there.

That's a little cryptic. Are you saying you can use the mount command above and then are able to navigate to the folder in a terminal? but not in nautilus? That would be bizarre. If you want it to be mounted permanently, you need an entry int the /etc/fstab file. If you mount with that command you should then be able to navigate to the /mnt/winshare directory and access file. A little more detail on exactly what is happening?

Yes, it's in winshare in Nautilus when I mount it from the command line, but when I don't mount it from the command line, the Windows computer still listed in Nautilus under WORKGROUP, but I can't mount it by clicking on it. What I want it to be able to do is to mount it in Nautilus by clicking on it without having to type the command each time. Also, the computer's not always on, so if I put it in the fstab file, it would try to mount it even when it wasn't on.
