Unhappy Problems locating CPAN.pm Fedora 10

hey, I have been trying to install some perl modules from CPAN but I am still stuck(todays my day 2). Maybe my CPAN module isnt working or whatever I said is so wrong. please give me some advice on this.I am so lost and I am a SUPER LINUX NOOB!

[PROBLEM]
this is my recent error report when i typed (trying to install catalyst manual):
Code:
perl Makefile.PL
output :
Code:
Subroutine author_requires redefined at inc/Module/Install/AuthorRequires.pm line 14.
Cannot determine perl version info from ./lib/Catalyst/Manual.pm
*** Module::AutoInstall version 1.03
*** Checking for Perl dependencies...
Can't locate CPAN.pm in @INC (@INC contains: inc /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl .) at inc/Module/AutoInstall.pm line 277.
And when I type
Code:
perl -MCPAN -e shell
output :
Code:
Can't locate CPAN.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0 /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0/i386-linux-thread-multi /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.10.0 /usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl /usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl .).
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted.
I have searched CPAN location in my computer using locate command but got none. do i have to reinstall perl? Please give me some idea on it.

Getting the "real" CPAN.pm :

# yum install perl-CPAN

.. provides /usr/lib/perl5/5.10.0/CPAN.pm

.....
