Question Problems loading GUI in mandrake

Hello,

I recently installed Mandrake Linux on my computer. I was able to start it up using KDE no problem. i started it up again, and rather then loading kde like i want it to, I'm braught to the console. I tried using startx and it says there's a failure and will not load the GUI. i tried the fx86config command first but that didnt help. then i just tried "exec startkde" the whoele system tweaks and then restarts the console...... what should i do?

I cant really reinstall because linux does not like my nforce chipset and crashes everytime i do an install. I only got it on there by putting my harddrive ina friends computer.

HELP! lol.

Thank you!

lol .. wow .. just wow.
So you're saying that you installed linux on another system, but with YOUR harddrive, and expected it to work?
If it cant take your chipset or whatever, then how can you expect it to run when its setup is based on your friends computer and NOT yours. Sorry, I dont know what to tell you ... that just doesnt work.
