Problems installing Mandrake

Hey there!

Im new in this linux world. I have only tried HP-UX.

I would like to install Linux Mandrake on my computer and i have downloaded 2 versions. 32Bit and 64Bit.

But i have problems with both of them!

32bit version boots up but all i end up with is a black screen when i have pressed "Enter" to install.

I have also tried vgalo and text versions. But no luck.

Then i tried the 64bit.

This time i get af bit longer. I come to a black screen with a blue bar i top and buttom. With options like "Alt-F1" and so on. And a welcome text i the top bar.

But its like my computer freezes. I can't do anything!

My system specs:

Amd Athlon 64 3200+
1024mb DDR400
Asus K8V-X socket 754
120Gb Maxtor sata
Radeon 9800pro 128mb
Aopen combined Dvd+r/cd-r

Both versions have i tried burning with only 4xspeed to be sure.

Hope anyone have a clue to what i should do!

Best Regards

did you check your iso's with md5checlsums? There could be errors in your iso files. If you find an error try downloading from a different mirror.
