Problems Installing Gutenprint 5.2.7 in Ubuntu 11.04
 

Having just acquired a large format printer for free (freecycle!) I'm having fun setting it up.

A bit of research shows Gutenprint to be my only option for getting it to work, but I can't see how to install it. I've added a few drivers here and there, but never tackled anything this size before.

I have Gutenprint 5.2.7 sitting unzipped in a folder, but don't know where to go from here. The readme files and user manual in are going over my head.

Any help very welcome, thanks.


EDIT: Found a way round it. Gutenprint started life as a large gimp plug in, so I poked round gimp until I found the gutenprint and associated plug ins...
