Are you sure that your pc is 64 bit. I got the same problem when I tried to install a 64 bit os into my 62 bit computer.

okey now I have install Debian and I having the same problem but because is Debian this solution doesnt work anymore

and I dowload NVIDIA-Linux-x86-256.44.run
this drive but when I tried to intall it, its says that I am in x86_64 and i have to be in X86
so I tried to kill x this way:
sudo service gdm stop
/etc/init.d/gdm stop
and it doesnt work
I have been searching for forums with the solutions but I didt find it if you find it or you have any clue how can I solve it I will be thanksfull XD
