What version of debian are you trying to install (Sarge, Etch, Lenny)? What motherboard are you trying to install this to? Are you using a separate SATA controller card? If so, what model card?

Just in case this is a Dell, HP, etc... who is the manufacturer of your PC, and what is the model number of it ?

I know in order to get etch to boot on my Dell Optiplex 320 I had to use some unconventional methods and lilo as the boot manager because grub won't work on this hardware.
