Question Problems configuring RSH in redhat 8.0

Hello Everyone,

I am attempting to configure rsh on a redhat AS3/Taroon server running on an iSeries partition. I am attempting to run the rsh command on my redhat 8.0 desktop running on a dell intel box. I am trying to connect via rsh to the Taroon server and issued the mozilla command and have the display be piped back to the desktop. I also do not want to login and I also unwilling to use ssh. The reasons are long and varied and trust me if I had my way we would use ssh. That being said, when I attempt to issue the command 'rsh -l root locahhost mozilla' I keep getting the connection refused message. I have ensured that both the root passwords are the same.

The configuration on the Taroon server is as follows:

My .rhosts file in the /root directory looks like this,

This corresponds to the host table entry in the /etc/hosts file that looks like this

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail. Taroon-Linux-annex localhost.localdomain localhost
xx.xx.xx.xx edtest

Now I also have an entry in the /etc/hosts.equiv that reads,

The configuration on the desktop looks is as follows:

The host table entry is,

# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail. localhost.localdomain localhost
xx.xx.xx.xx Taroon-Linux-annex

If anyone has any information your help would be greatly appreciated.
