problems configuring dual monitors on Dell docking station

I've got a Dell M60 connected to a Dell docking station, running Red Hat 9. I've got one video card (GeForce) and two monitors; one connects to the docking station via an analog port and one digital. I can display on the monitors by using fn-f8, but it's a clone on the two monitors. What I'm trying to do is to have the desktop span the two monitors.

I've looked at a lot of the threads, and tried to copy the suggestions for editing the XF86Config, but have had no luck so far. If I try to add a section for a second monitor and screen, I only get one monitor to display. I've tried to add info for the optional second monitor, but the x server won't start with that.

I'm probably missing something very simple here....but I'm new to setting up these files. If anyone can help me with this, I'd really appreciate it! This is my current XF86Config (which doesn't work):

Well, mine works, so here's a copy try it and see if it works for you. Just be aware that the file is called XF86Config-4 now. And just to make sure you have installed the proprietary drivers from NVidia right?

Code:
# XF86Config-4 (XFree86 X Window System server configuration file)
#
# This file was generated by dexconf, the Debian X Configuration tool, using
# values from the debconf database.
#
# Edit this file with caution, and see the XF86Config-4 manual page.
# (Type "man XF86Config-4" at the shell prompt.)
#
# This file is automatically updated on xserver-xfree86 package upgrades *only*
# if it has not been modified since the last upgrade of the xserver-xfree86
# package.
#
# If you have edited this file but would like it to be automatically updated
# again, run the following commands as root:
#
# cp /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.custom
# md5sum /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 >/var/lib/xfree86/XF86Config-4.md5sum
# dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

Thanks for the help....I am soooo close! Now my display spans one external monitor and the laptop LCD, so I'm still missing something. Yes, I do have the right drivers from nvidia, but my config is not called XF86Config-4. Does that mean I'm not using the latest xfree86? Anyhow, here's my latest file if you can see anything I should try changing. (btw, I know I should be putting this in a code box but I must be really stupid this morning as the code button doesn't do what I would expect...)
