problems compiling cdrtools on slackware 9
so far, I've been unable to install cdrtools 2.00.3 under slack 9. I've extracted the source with both "Ark" in XW and gunzip | tar xvf <archive> .On running ./.configure instructions are displayed to "just make, make install - if all else fails, d/l my smake program" basically. On both make, and make install, I'm not greeted with any kind of verbose error messages. On completion (of both cdrtool.. and smake) though, both /usr/local/bin and /lib look about the same as they did before I tried to install.

I'm sure I'm doing(/not doing) something retarded, but any help someone could give troubleshooting would be much appreciated.

Does it install anything in /opt/schily?

/opt/schily/bin/ has what looks like all the executibles from cdrtools and smake..

change the configure to look like ./configure --prefix=/usr

This will install the bin's into /usr/bin or conversly just add /opt/schily to your path. But I prefer to keep my system all neat if possible.

There is no configure. Use

make INS_BASE=/usr
make INS_BASE=/usr install

see the file cdrtools-2.00.3/README.compile
